Savour

Last Tuesday night we had a dinner to be savoured. Fresh butternut squash pasta stretched and made from scratch, a beautiful salad, juicy, coffee encrusted beef tenderloin with a creamy bearnaise sauce and crisp haricot verts. Shannon, an incredible professional chef, had our mouths watering from the moment we entered the apartment. She is a master of flavors and we were so excited to be invited to her table.

Enjoying Dinner

Going out for dinner can be a challenge with little boys on the move, but with all the new action at the Houston City Center - dinner is enjoyable once again! We met up with the Kerr family and Alisa at Ruggles Green, sat outside to enjoy the evening, and let the boys run wild in the center grass/turf. There was no worry of a mess since we were outside and the little boys had a ball!

Robinsons in Whoville

When we first moved into the neighborhood, I met Marianne at our women's club. Unfortunately, we kept missing each other at the meetings and then I became pregnant and put on bedrest and then Marianne became pregnant. We never really had a chance to connect beyond knowing what a sweet neighbor she was. Our friendship; however was meant to be. It just so happens that Carin's "friend" close by that went to her highschool who was going to start joining our playdates and Claire's friend also same highschool living in the neighborhood and most recently Alicia's friend and Jenn's friend and so on and so one IS... Marianne Horton! As soon as it clicked; As soon as we got the chance to truly visit... it was like we had been friends for years. The best part is that their family lives so close that you could hit a golf ball into their yard from mine. I feel like my neighborhood stepped out of the movies where we walk in the evenings pushing the babies and drinking a little wine from time to time in the front yard. Where our littles splash in the pool and play on blankets laid out underneath the trees. Where the playground is within arms reach and where Liam will learn to ride his bicycle from the safety of a double cul de sac and protective moms with orange cones at the entrance.

We have literally dropped into Whoville. The city located on a single spec in this great big city protected by 'elephant' caring moms and neighbors. And my neighbor "Whos" are known for their characteristic welcoming spirits and warm hearts. I cannot believe it took us so long to finally connect with the precious Horton family. Marianne is the kind of friend everyone wishes for where she treats everyone like "A person's a person no matter how small" She is genuine and kind. And Kevin and Bill get along great having similar interests! Lainey is one of the most gorgeous little girls Liam and I have ever seen and her personality lights up the room. No dating until you are older little man! wink!

Piggies and Paws Playdate

For May's playdate, I wanted to come up with something fun and different. When I heard that one of the moms in Liam's class was a Piggies and Paws artist, I knew it would make the perfect get together. Father's Day is just around the corner and Piggies and Paws offers hundreds of options to turn your child's fingers and toes into a masterpiece!

16 Months

This post hits me hard every single month. Every single month I know that Liam is one month older and that the number only goes up from here, but I still seem shocked everytime I write the new number into the blog post title. Because it is just crazy that I am a mother to a 16 month old!

Aggie Grad

Last Friday, Steven drove Liam and I back to Aggieland to celebrate a very special graduate. Bill really wanted to shake the hand of his fellow Aggie and wish him all the best, but he was still recovering so Liam and I represented the Robinson family.

Ahoy Capt. Wyatt

Don't forget to post a comment on the Mother's Day post for a chance to win your own set of wineVEILs, perfect for summer entertaining. Winner will be announced in Monday's post!

Mother's Day afternoon we put on our seersucker and headed to celebrate Wyatt's first birthday. I was 'blown out of the water' when we entered their backyard. Claire had created a beach scene complete with sand, treasure chest, palm tree and a pirate ship! A real pirate ship with a flag flying high.

The Perfect Mother's Day and Giveaway

The week before Mother's Day, I received the best Mother's Day present a mom could ask for. Liam, after not saying it for 8 months, found his "M" again and said Mamma! And hasn't stopped saying it ever since. My heart was completely full when he began repeating a distinct "Hi mamma" to which I would reply "Hi Liam" until we both ran out of breath. His latest use of mamma is while carrying his playskool cell phone. Daycare also pointed out that he walks around the room saying Hi mamma... and da - dee while speaking into their play phone. Hummm... Does this mean that I am on the phone too much?

Uno Dino-Rita

Wondering what we have been up to? I took a new job as the family pharmacist and have been extremely busy. The line-up included a cough suppressant and amoxicillin for our dog, Tucker's cold (yes, apparently dogs can also catch a cold... who knew?). Phenergan and bacterial antibiotic for the nasty stomach virus my poor husband caught and Augmentin plus drops for Liam's ear infection which has prompted the scheduling for tubes. To say I am stressed about that would be an understatement, but more on that later. I am pretty certain that the pharmacist has not slept a full night since last Saturday and after a pretty awful cinco de mayo and even more horrible week, I am ready to put in my notice and return to my current job.

Please stay with us as I try to catch up on blogging as I have only posted 1 post in May. What is all that about? cause we have certainly been busy!

Saturday, May 7th we celebrated a first birthday of one very special little boy with dinosaurs! I have spoken a lot about the Robbin's family as we are so grateful for their friendship. I can hardly believe that Sam turned one!
