Wednesday Wink 011

Wednesday Wink 011

This week is the bookfair at Liam's school. Some of my favorite school memories were when my mom would meet me at the fair and I would spend an hour going through each book and choosing my favorites like Judy Bloom or the ones with the stickers in the back. Liam also has a love for books and our little shelf is overflowing with Eric Carle and Dr. Suess. Of course he loves "The Very Hungary Caterpillar" (thus his first birthday theme) and we finish the night with prayers and "Goodnight Moon," but we recently discovered a new favorite from our best friend Noah. A book that we must have read fifty times already and I find myself singing "I love my white shoes" all morning on my way to work. If you are not already familiar with "Pete the Cat," we highly recommend you introduce yourself.

This is by far Liam's favorite and to see him and Noah reciting the story is adorable. Liam runs around the house saying "Oh no! Strawberries!" and humming his version of "Do Dah Shoes.. (something, something) Shoes!" It literally took one version read to him by his Godmother, Ashley to fall in love with Pete.

(I have now officially learned how to sing the song.. this was pre-download... whoops!)

I bought two copies! And the best part is that the book and song are downloadable and we can listen to it on the go! I cannot believe that we missed the book signing at Blue Willow, but you better believe that we will be there for the next one.

We have found several lovers of Pete after discovering this book. It is the perfect book for all ages! There are toddlers and first graders singing along with Pete. One of Liam's favorite parts of the book is the "oh no!

This book not is not only entertaining, but educational. It teaches colors and provides a wonderful message! Not too mention the colorful pages!
Pick up your copy of Pete the Cat "I Love My White Shoes" and Eric Litwin's latest "Rockin in My School Shoes" and I promise you will not be disappointed.

I would love to hear some of your favorites to add to our shelves!

Note: Kathryn's Camera is not associated with Pete the Cat and this is purely a recommendation based on our experiences. We did, however, get permission from Mr. Eric himself to give you this review!

  1. When Miles was younger, it was always Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Then Go Dogs, Go by Dr. Suess. Now it's Goodnight Gorilla and I love you Stinky Face. Stinky Face is currently my favorite too. :)
