Liam's Polar Express themed 2nd birthday turned out better than I could have dreamed it for him. These birthdays have grown legs and have certainly turned into productions, but to see the pure joy on his face made it all worth it!

22 Months

Just because I am behind, it doesn't mean that 21 and 22 months don't deserve separate posts!

Oh my goodness... there are only two more months that I get to hear Liam answer "How old are you?" with a very loud 1! I guess we should start practicing for 2. As I said before, this is one of my favorite ages. They are little sponges and you can see the light bulbs going off. I love that Liam is getting better at communicating which means I understand him more and more. Sometimes the communication... wait, let me back that up... most of the time the communication is "nooooo." It is not a mean no or a yell. It is a sweet, drawn out little no, but a no it is. "Yes" is just not in our vocabulary right now. Bill and I are trying to use yes whenever and wherever possible to help with this distinction; however climbing on the coffee table is no, standing up in the chair is no, pulling Tucker's tail is no, going outside when it is cold and rainy is no, throwing anything but balls is no, eating cookies before dinner is no... I mean, I can understand why he only gets no. We are finding ways to yes, I promise!

21 Months

These past few months have blended together. I have to say this is my favorite favorite stage thus far in the life of Liam. His little personality is shining through and I am totally head over heals for this little guy. In terms of development, I feel as though we have accomplished so much. I am amazed at the growth.. Sitting at a big boy table to eat lunch, no more bib, using a fork and spoon to eat, drinking from an open cup, throwing away the mess in the trash, helping to clean up toys, helping to stir and cook in mommy's kitchen, coloring with markers, trick or treating for candy, learning what "time out" means and saying "I am sorry," learning to walk in a line at school, saying cheese and smiling for the camera, and recognizing L-I-A-M spells Liam to name a few. He continues to amaze me each day and I feel like the luckiest mom in the entire world. I thought since October was the month for pumpkins, I would post a few patch photos.

20 Months

I win the horrible mom award for month 20. Yes, I am aware that in three days Liam will be 21 months. I am aware that I am so completely behind on blogging. You should see my blog que. But in any case this is my adorable 20 month old.

19 Months

At 19 months we are tipping the scales at 28 pounds and reaching heights of 32 inches...

I get a lot of questions around firsts and when we introduced certain items or we crossed certain milestones. You have to do what works for your family and every child is different, but I am happy to share our story of firsts. And honestly, I thought I would be that mom that would remember everything... but as it turns out, I am guilty of the first year blur as well. If I missed anything you are curious about, just let me know!

18 Months

Liam turned 1 1/2. (close mouth.)

17 Months

Before I blink and Liam turns 18 months, I better get this documented and posted!

16 Months

This post hits me hard every single month. Every single month I know that Liam is one month older and that the number only goes up from here, but I still seem shocked everytime I write the new number into the blog post title. Because it is just crazy that I am a mother to a 16 month old!

15 Months

I am not going to say what you think I am going to which is that I cannot believe it has been 15 months. But seriously, it has been 15 months! I have a 15 month old.

Month of Language

Post 'Visit with Shamu' broke a record with a whopping 10 comments! (even if one of them was my response) I have to admit, I was getting a little sad when several friend's blogs were getting tons of comment hits... but 10 comments! Whoo hoo! It's the little things in life!

Animals

We were finally able to catch a little of the animal game on video last night even though he did not make any of the animal noises and he cheated at the end mostly because I think he was over it! I wish he would do it the way he does when camera's aren't watching. His animal impressions are hilarious... maybe his mommy just thinks so!

Special thanks to Mea's CBS friends for picking out the foam animal cutout book! As you can see, we took them all out and have lots of fun with them! Liam stashed the chicken somewhere... hummm.

Ba Boo

When is the cutoff for counting in months? In any case... we just celebrated month 13 and it was a big one! There was so much to celebrate! We received the best present in the mail from Paige of PLO Photography! Our birthday photos! Thank you again Paige for bottling our precious memories!

How Big is Liam?

Two New Firsts

When we returned home, we had some pretty big first around the Robinson household. Liam had been taking a few steps here and there. Mostly from the coffee table to the sofa. When I mean a few steps, I mean just enough to launch himself forward allowing the sofa to catch his fall. Then, over Christmas we spent some time with my uncle who started this whole "walking" thing. He is an awesome teacher. Awesome coach. Such patience. And Liam would try anything for him. So, to prove to him that he had come a long way from Thanksgiving... Liam popped up and took 4-5 steps towards him! He was proud, and mommy and daddy were so proud of him! And then... when Christmas settled down and he was settled into a nice clean home... Liam walked!!! For the remote that is... typical male!

A Big 11 Months

It's the most wonderful time of the year and this season it is especially wonderful! I cannot believe that we will be celebrating your first Christmas as an eleven month old! When I look back at last years photos and see my big, red belly it seems impossible to believe that it has been a year. What a difference!

Perfect 10

A perfect ten months. I know that I say this with each passing month, but it truly is hard to believe that time is passing by so quickly. That you are quickly going to be defined by years instead of months.

9 Months You Say?

Around this time last year, I was checking into the hospital with pre-term labor contractions and I was sentenced to strict bed rest until January. It is amazing that a year later, I am holding a perfect little 9 month year old baby boy! 9 months means that we had another doctor checkup to see progress and get those nasty 9 month shots.
