Before I blink and Liam turns 18 months, I better get this documented and posted!
At this age, things change daily. All of the sudden, Liam will do or say something new. We are having so much fun! We have had to be super sensitive to things we do and say because we have a little shadow in our house! Like the other day when I yelled into the other room for Bill to grab something and my 17 month old screams "BILL!" ~whoops.
Liam is really into books and always has been, but recently he 'reads' them to us. Every now and then he says a word we know and points, but the rise and fall of his voice as he turns the pages is absolutely adorable even if the words make no sense at all. His favorites are "The Very Hungry Caterpillar," "Brown Bear, Brown Bear," "Goodnight Moon," and "Are you my Mother?"(might want to pause the music!)
He has never really been into stuffed animals, but recently he thinks it is funny to grab the giant "iipp -O" and bury his face in him. He can also point out the "raff" (giraffe) and the "Bee-bra" (zebra).
We are also starting him early, despite the efforts of his grand-parents (look how well those tactics worked on their kids) and Liam puts his fingers together for what the Aggie's say, "Whoop!"
Liam has started getting pretty picky about what he will and will NOT eat. We are still not into vegetables in their current forms (not mushed) so I try to get them in wherever I can. The most recent suggestion that has been pretty popular is the 'Peas of Mind,' organic vegetable puffet that you can purchase in the frozen section. I am always up for any help in the arena of getting your children to eat their veggies! Other items he will eat must be dipped in sauce: BBQ, Ketchup, Mustard, Ranch dressing, Hummus... roasted red pepper cream cheese? seriously... this kid is saucy!
We also started swimming lessons and Liam is loving the water. He can blow bubbles, "kick, kick, kick," and swim with his arms... just not all at the same time, but we will put it all together! My little fish also loves to 'jump' off the side into the water, even though it is more of a step off the ledge and hope mommy catches you kind of thing!
Man do we still love talking on the phone!
I am over the moon in love with this little 17 month old!
