The 2011, Summer Tot Olympic opening ceremony honoring Layla Banker's first birthday was held at Little Gym on July 30th.
Little Layla had been practicing all year and was sure to win the Gold metal in each of the fantastic events! The intense floor program was composed of a mixture of shaker dancing, flexibility and skill choreographed by the ladies of Little Gym.
The next event was a true test of aerobic gymnastic balance as we spun the children on a colorful parachute to music and a grand finale dome routine!
Everyone was excited to participate in the bouncing acrobatics on the trampoline. I am not sure who had more fun... the adults or the kids!
A few of the more advanced gymnasts danced on the balance beam.
And the final event was a magical ribbon dance routine using colorful scarves that was a huge hit.
After completing his hot pink number, Liam made sure to dunk a few "bee bee balls" to ensure his manhood was fully in tact.
The judging panel gave Layla a perfect 10 in all of her events!
There were lots of closing ceremony photographs with the Gold Medalist!
and a super sweet, congratulatory kiss from her beautiful mommy!
When it came down to the group pose, it was my little one that was running off into the distance... he was having too much fun to stop for a photo... but try as we might, we ended up with an okay one!
Everyone had worked up a pretty large appetite and headed into the party room for yummy lemonade, chick-fil-a nuggets, fruit, and pizza...
Then it was time to stand on the winner's platform, sing Happy Birthday, and blow out the candles.
I cannot believe that sweet Layla is one! She is a happy, full of energy little girl and we were so happy to be able to celebrate with her and her amazing parents!
Jackie planned the perfect day with all of Layla's favorites. I am pretty sure at one point we all voted and Jackie was number one choice of mom we would leave our children with. She is such a wonderful mommy!
She is one, very blessed little cupcake! Happy First Birthday!
Thank you for the sweet post! So glad y'all were there, it wouldn't have been the same without you!
