Baby Liam!

We are proud to announce the arrival of our baby boy, William Stone Robinson! After much debate, we have decided to call him Liam for short. Words cannot express how much we are in love with this little guy - can you tell that I have officially lost track of time as I have not been as timely in my posts?

Bill and I could not have imagined how much our lives would change when we woke up on the morning of January 22. I began to have my regular contractions (as I did most days being on bed rest for 11 weeks, and carried on with my daily errands until around 11:30PM when I determined that I should stop off at the doctor's office as the weekend was approaching and I wanted to be sure that everything was alright. I had dilated to almost a 3 and was 100% effaced, so they admitted me into Labor and Delivery. I immediately called Bill and then the grandparents to let them know that Liam was on his way! All I can say is that women who have natural births are my heroes... By 12:30 they had put in the epidural and around 2:30 my doctor came to check on my progress... I thought that she would say that we had dilated to a 5 which would have been great - imagine my shock to hear... "There is the head!" I could not have asked for a better partner than my husband... he was truly amazing! Liam entered the world at 6 pounds and almost 11 ounces. We are so blessed to have a perfectly healthy baby boy. Our world has forever changed for the better.

A special thanks to GiGi and Mea for all the home help! We are truly grateful to have two amazing mothers who helped us out tremendously!

Dr. Sinacori is the greatest doctor ever! Right after delivery...

Shower Round 2!

As I said in my previous post, Saturday was eventful... so eventful it needed 2 blog entries! After a crazy morning, we went home so that I could lay down. That evening, despite more contractions, I was able to get them under control enough to attend another wonderful shower at 7PM at Amelia's lovely home. I have such amazing and wonderful girlfriends here in Houston! The decor was just about the cutest I had ever seen... Giraffe everywhere! I was overwhelmed with more gifts and I could not feel more blessed! Thank you Amelia, Ashley K, Ashley P, Alisa, and Jackie (won't be long till we are showering the newest mommy to be - Jackie!).
Need a cute, custom invitation? Nicole Smith did these... super cute!
The cake everyone was raving about: Ashley's husband Chris made it and we promised not to tell, but it was just too cute and too good. Amazing job Chris! I also must send a shout out to the other man of the night - Nicole's husband, Will for the delicious food! All of these hidden husband talents!

So, here is another belly shot... 35 weeks and 5 days (2 days from 9 months)

Baby Tries to Join Shower!

What an eventful weekend! Friday night I started having contractions at about 10PM. I tried ignoring them as my baby showers were the next day and I was pretending that they were not happening! wink! (Keeping in mind of course that I have been having contractions since week 25 and thought they would settle with sleep). Then, at 3:30AM the contractions were about 4 minutes apart - no more ignoring! We called the doctor and it just so happened that my doctor was the one on call... so lucky for us! We got settled into the hospital at around 4AM and they gave me a shot to slow contractions (By then they were about 2 minutes apart). I was one centimeter dilated and 80 percent effaced for those of you that know what all that means! At around 7 I got another shot and then my doctor let me go at around 9:30 knowing I had showers! I threw on my dress and my mother and grandmother got me to my lovely shower at the junior league just in time for the 11:30 shower! The shower was absolutely wonderful and we got so many nice things! Thank you so much Nancy, Elise and Emily for such a special lunch!

Happy New Year!

We are saying Goodbye to 2009 and looking forward to a wonderful and exciting 2010! After 9 weeks of bed rest for our little boy... we were given the green light this New Year's Eve from our doctor that our baby was doing great and that I am clear to get up in 2 weeks! I am making a priority list now of all the little things we have left to do because if my current contraction count means anything, we will most likely be seeing our little boy in January instead of his February prediction! He is head down and ready for this world! Of course we want to keep him in as long as possible, but we truly feel blessed that we have made it to the green zone! Our hutch came in to finish off the nursery furniture and all we have left are the baby essentials and of course #2 and #3 GiGi paintings!
There was no champaign toast for me this New Year's Eve, but I was able to enjoy a little of the celebration sitting down at Ladd and Alisa's home! Happy New Year friends and family and thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers!
Earlier this week, Elliott Hillock, who was on leave from the Army, came to visit. It was really great to see him and catch up!
And... if you were wondering what an 8 1/2 (34 week - maybe a little over) looks like... here ya go! And yes, I am aware I am wearing horizontal stripes to all my girlfriends... haha! wink!
